The Campaign for
Dr. Johnson’s House
The American Friends of Dr. Johnson’s House are proud to partner with the Dr. Johnson’s House Trust to increase awareness of and accessibility to the Dr. Johnson’s House museum through a much-needed fundraising campaign. Campaign priorities include the acquisition of the adjacent five-story building, capital needs to connect the structures, the addition of part-time staff, and growing the endowment fund.
While the Trust is still developing detailed plans, the following cost estimates suggest what is needed to achieve its aspirations:
The American Friends will focus on the capital needs of the campaign. By acquiring the adjacent building, the House will be able to expand its programming, become more accessible to all visitors by offering elevators, and increase the number of visitors served each year.
Naming opportunities are available for the building, each floor, and the rooms within. This is an extraordinary opportunity for naming a landmark that thousands of international visitors see every year in central London.
As a donor, you will receive updates on the Campaign for Dr. Johnson’s House and invitations to events taking place in the U.S. and London.
